Welcome to The Amatola Mountain Bike Club, situated in East London, known as Buffalo City, situated 1000 kilometres from Cape Town on the South East Coast of South Africa. Lying between the Gonubie River in the North and the Chalumna River to the South. It is the only river port in South Africa. Lapped by the warm waters of the Indian Ocean and with its sub-tropical climate, East London is a sought after tourist destination for local and international tourists alike. The Amatola Mountain Bike Club offers a great way to meet other mountain bikers and join organised rides. Belonging to a mountain bike club is still a bit foreign to many riders who would much rather just get on the trail and ride by themselves. We offer organised and regular weekend rides as well as some midweek rides and night rides. The Amatola Mountain Bike Club also organise mountain bike races forming part of the Border Marathon Series and X Country series. Belonging to a club is necessary to get a CSA racing license. These are needed to enter and ride in sanctioned events. The members of the Amatola Mountain Bike Club are pretty much an easy going bunch of people with the majority focused on riding and having fun.
With a membership base of just under a hundred members, the Amatola Mountain Bike Club is the largest mountain bike club in the Border area. Volunteer mountain bike enthusiasts form the committee, and fellow members assist and organise with events. Join our club or one of our mailing lists and see for yourself . . . .
