Go to Look & Feel and click on Logo / Header. There will be instructions there.

You need to contact your website designer* in order to upgrade your website from a basic one to a more enhanced website, more particularly w.r.t the domain. This is no problem, just send your website designer* an e-mail, and ask for the website to be upgraded, this will result in your webiste designer* e-mailing you a debit order agreement form and you must fill this out and send it back to your webiste designer*. He/she will then perform the upgrade for you.

Our templates are standard, however we have a range of templates to choose from that can be used and quickly changed from one layout to the other by just a click of a button. If you were to use your own templates, this would not make any changes easy or possible to do, as when you were to change your template from your created template, you would have to ensure all changes are carried across. This is only available to clients who have already upgraded their website.

You can access the responses to your Surveys/Forms by clicking "Manage Website Content" and then clicking "Surveys / Forms".

When you are viewing that screen there will be an option "Check Responses", click that and you will see the responses to your Form.

Under "Manage Website Content" there is a link called "Links". You can use this section to add links to your website. If the links link is not showing check the Rename Website Links option to make sure that the links has a label and is not blank.

You can upload .ppt and .xls documents to your website by creating a jpeg file out of it, editing the jpeg, and then uploading the document to the website portal. The other way this can be done, is by uploading word documents or .pdf documents directly through the website portal, by following the links for uploading documents.

If you decide you want the moving "flash" logo please follow these important instructions.

The images you upload must be the same size (800 pixels X 200 pixels). Upload the images in the order that you want them to appear. i.e. the first image you upload is the first one that will be seen on your website.

If you load images that are bigger not the full image will be displayed.

Step 1:	Start by creating your "template background" - For Best results create the image to be 800 pixels wide by 200 pixels high!!
	Save the File as "Background"
	For Example: (Image NOT ideal size - Demonstration only!)
Step 2:	Using the background file that you created above and add "Items" to it. for example, text, another image etc.
	Then Click "File" -> "Save As" and save that as "Image 2"
	For Example:
Step 3:	Now using the "Image 2" you created above add more items to that image. Another Picture, Text etc
	Then Click "File" -> "Save As" and save that as "Image 3"

	You can repeat step 3 as many times as you like, just remember to click FILE -> SAVE AS otherwise you will overwrite the changes you are making
	Alternatively you can have completely different images that then fade into each other. A very nice example can be seen here www.kwikwap.co.za/icentre The Concept remains the same, it is multiple images that are the same size that fade into each other.

The same username and password used to retrieve your mail from the mailserver on which your domain is setup at Kwikwap, will apply for outgoing mail authentication. A typical error when not authenticating successfully with our mailserver is the '550 relay not permitted' error message from within your email client. It indicates that you are not authenticating to your SMTP server.

The easiest way to view the changes of your website is to open a new window and then go to your website.

On most browsers there is an option to open a new tab, this is definately the easiest way to check any changes you have made.

The keyboard shortcut for a new tab is normally CONTOL+T (press control & T at the same time)

Unfortunately you cannot upload videos directly to your Website.

BUT you can "embed" videos from numerous sources.

The best way is to upload your Video to www.youtube.com and then using the new text editor, you can embed that video in most places on your website. an example of an embedded video is below:

The option to click for the video is "Insert/Edit Media Object" (it looks like a little "film") is another way of adding a video. Once you have clicked that option you can enter the URL of the youtube video you want on your website and it will then display there.

If you want videos from other sources unfortunately you can only place them on your Kwikwap Custom pages for now.

Unfortunately not yet. I am sure they will look into it at a stage but right now there are more pressing things that are needed.

One of the possible reasons is that you still have the "Flash Logo" active, if that is active and you update your normal logo the update wont take place because the Flash Logo has not been deactivated.

To deactivate the Flash Logo go to Look & Feel and Disable it there under Logo/Header.

If you dont come right with that I would recommend you contact your Agent and ask them to check for you.

This identifies the agent that created the website for you. It can not be deleted. Why would you want to delete it? Are you not happy with the Agent's service you received?

If you are not happy with the agents service submit a complaint under feedback so that Kwikwap can pull him right.

Unfortunately you cannot group Link Items but what you could do is change your template and use one where the links are placed on the left or right running down the screen. This way you will not have the problem of the links bar being too wide.

I am assuming that when you say you tried you used the "Allocate Products/Services to a Group" option under your Products and Services.

When you click that option you choose which group you want to manage, you then click the products that you want to place under that group.

If you continue to have a problem please contact your agent for help.

Once you've uploaded the property (is it an image?), then you need to go to adding text?  I'm pretty new at this myself ...  

Not yet, Kwikwap do create a sitemap automatically and send it to the search engines but there is not one for "Website Visitors" yet.

The best thing would be to contact your agent to ask them for training on to use the system. 

As I understand it, you can only make changes/additions to the website from the management portal (otherwise may leave your website open to intervention from others?).  Again, pretty new at this myself but am learning through little bits of trial and error ...

Hi. I'm just a client like you but all you need to do is go to "Manage Website contents" and add "Additional Modules" then click on "Gallery".

Activate this module and then go back to managing your content where you will find Gallery added. Click on Gallery and play. Have fun. 

PS: It is wise to make sure all your photo's are of the same size. Otherwise your photo gallery pictures will overlap and it doesn't look good.

There are too many clients that do not receive proper training from their agents. There should not be so many questions?

There are two manuals in your website management portal that teaches you the finer points of getting your website higher on Google. One thing that is important is the age of your website, so the sooner your get a website the better. Regular updates to your website is also important.

Alternatively you can type in the phrase "increase hits on website" that will give you allot of links to pages where you can read about how Google searches and index pages and tips on how to increase your hits.

Google's robots (computers that scan the internet and index the info on the internet) come around every few days or weeks, it then assesses each website and tries to read all the info on the websites and then ranks that webpage according to its algorithm. The better websites rank higher. Even if you search for your unique and specific name, will you not find yourself immediately as Google's robot / spyders have not seen your website yet. Give it a week or two and then try again. If you have a complete flash website then Google might have trouble in reading your website and may even not find your website at all, even after months or years.

What is applicable to Google, as discussed above, is also applicable to the other search engines like Yahoo!, Live, Ask Jeeves, Dogpile etc

 The most important thing is that the file is a .gif

There you can change your home page options by clicking the one you want to be the hompage.

 Here is the way to start your online shop on your website:

1. Activate the Online Ordering Module under Additional Modules in your Client Management Portal (there where a client work on his website). The online ordering is only available to client on the Level 3 package. Customers on the lower packages can activate and test it but will be upgraded to the higher package to use all the functionality.

 2. You will be asked for Registration Details such as Contact Person and Telephone Numbers etc

3. You also have to complete the Payment Details and Types

4. A Client can have three methods to transact with you:

            a) Accept credit card payments through a Payment Gateway (like an internet bank), and/or

            b) Direct deposit or transfer into your bank account (EFT), or

            c) Quotations

            a. Credit Card

            You have to open an account with the Payment Gateway (there is a link to click that says  "Click here to             get your Merchant Identifier" that you need to click) and then enter your Merchant Identifier into your                Online Ordering Module in Kwikwap. The monies does not flow through Kwikwap but rather through                  the Payment Gateway. To open the Payment Gateway is free but their transaction charges are R2,50                + 4,9% of the purchase price (these rates are the industry standard). Click here to get your Merchant                Identifier. (Once you have registered and logged in, your Merchant Identifier can be found under   My                  Account then Overview.)

            b. Direct deposit / transfer

            After the customer has placed the order, he/she receives an email with your banking details. You also               receive a copy of the email (which also includes the clients details). The client then deposits the money             with a system generated order number. Once you have received the payment, the goods can                             be shipped.

            c. Quotations

            Once the customer has come to the end of the order process he/she will be able to request a         quotation. A quotation will automatically be sent to the client  with their products they have previously selected.

5. You will now see a new link under Manage Website Content on the left where you can manage the activated module. If you would like to disable you can do so under Manage Website Content using the links on the left.

6. Under the new menu item (Online Ordering) that you now see under Manage Website Content, you will find the following sub-menus:

            -Manage Products Available for Order

            -Check received Orders

            -Update Thank you and Shipping / Order / Quotation Terms      

            -Update your Registration Details        

            -Manage your payment details and types

7. Each sub-menu item is self explanatory (and it has descriptive text in there)

8. It is important to note that the website and online shop can (currently) have two different Product Databases' (mainly due to the fact that you might not want such long descriptions in the Online Shop in order to keep it neat or because some Products / Services in your website might not be for sale). You can move Products between the two Databases. It is also important to note that the price of the item must be in Cents (with no commas added)

There is a button in the top left hand corner that says " Problems, click here". That button recreates and republishes your whole website and will fix any errors (like a lost internet connection) that might have happened the previous time you published your website.

It is possible that something went wrong when you copied and pasted the supplied code (or that you did not press the Publish All Changes button). Please try again. Make sure that you Refresh your browser to see if the ad is now showing. CNTRL and F5 pressed simoultaneously workd very good to do a proper refresh of your website.

You log into your websites management portal. Click on manage website content. Click on Forms Survey. Click on check responses.

Adverts only appears at the bottom of the website of customiseable templates. It does not show at the bottom of pre defined templates. One can however now with the new text editor insert images anywhere in your website inclucing Gif images. (Those moving images) You can then insert a hyperlink in the picture be it a Jpeg image or a Gif Image.

So you can now also have adverts on Pre Defined Templates just not at the bottom of them. 

I don't have the answer to the question, but I do want to say I agree.  After registratio I took some time to develop our website, it took quite a while and I'm still not finished.  I realized how little was done by our agents and their name appears on the bottom of the main page.

First of all there are further questions about this in both the archived question and answer section and in the Help section under Suggestions. Thus it appears that more than one client is "questioning" this practice. Maybe it is as simple as that that the paying client should decide WHAT he / she wants on her site  or not as he / or she is paying a monthly fee. And surely the client knows very well who set up his/her site. 

Further more KWIKWAP is a effective and evolving enough system to sell it self.

You do not need to activate SMS. You simply put the number of drops required into a half glass of water and drink!

Thanks to whoever posted the funny :) the sms system is available to all clients who have a real site i.e. not Demo.

The best way to check this is to contact your consultant to find out. A rule is, if your a paying client your site should be real, if it is not then contact your consultant.

Go into "Admin & reports" and remove the company name from the "company name" Field.

The footer space consists of four blocks in which you can add adverts, text, embedded media (like videos, affiliate programs or GIF images)

Kwikwap is rewriting the Website Hit Counter because it was causing problems with the new server. It was a great tool and will be added back shortly. At the bottom of your website is still the total hits unless you are using a Set Template. 

I would Sugest trying to copy it to MS word first and try make the changes you need there.

Yes you can change the announcement title. The announcement title is the name of the announcement or heading.

The problem is that there are paragraphs with spaces between them. Take the spaces away, paste and once the content is where it needs to go, put spaces between paragraphs again. 

Unfortunately you do no tell us what your site's address is. Google Images takes longer than text. I don't know exactly how long but I do know that websites with a lot of data also get better results with their images. Yes Google reads your text below the images. Your whole website get's read by Google.

If you are really desperate to get quicker results you can also pay Google for Clicks you get. The trick is to have a proper website that will turn clicks into buying customers. Then a paid Google campaign will pay for itself.

My advice is to continue adding data in the form of text and to make your website as complete as possible and to be a little patient. Google will pick you up. At least with a Kwikwap Website you can log in on a daily basis and add data and it does not cost you a cent.

Only agents can delete demo sites. See the bottom of your website and contact your agent. He will have to log into his management portal and make your site inactive 

A inactive site can only be deleted by the agens License.

When you are viewing your list there are 2 buttons. "D" and "E" - D is to Delete the client and E is to edit the,\m.

So, go to View your Mailing list -> Find the client you want to remove and then click the D button.

Click on Admin and Reports

Click on Business Information

Scroll down and select either Afrikaans or English. More languages to follow! 

Under Manage Website Content - at the bottom you will find Rename Website Links 

To add links go to manage website content. Then click on links. Type in the web address and the description for the link.

First you must activate Photo Galleries on your website. Click on addittional modules. Activate the Photo Gallery there. Then you will find the photo module under manage website content. Click on Photo Gallery. Add an alum name since you will not be able to add photos unles you creat an album first. You can also upload web picture albums that allows itself to be embedded. Like Picassa3.5 

 You cant add additional addresses to the Google map. What you can do is add additional contacts when on the contact us page and then select the tick box which allows you to display the contacts directly on the contact us page.

Active Announcements under Additional Modules. It will then move to Manage Website Content.

Once you've added an Announcement it should be displayed on your webpage.

Some of the templates seems to have a problem with displaying the Announcements. If problem persist, please send a mail to technical@kwikwap.co.za explaining your problem.

 The reason is probably that you entered the key incorrectly. One can easily copy the API key but beware that you don't copy extra spaces before or after the key.

The problem was resolved when I chose another template - I changed from template 4 to 7 and the very first time it displayed the map correctly.  The reason I changed form templete 4 is that my flash logo was also not displaying correctly.  The right hand part was cut off and changing to template 7 resolved that problem also.  It appears as if template 4 may be a bit problematic?

This can not be done right now. Please make a suggestion. 

Click on Additional Modules and then on Newsletters - on the right hand side you will see a button which says: Activate Newsletter. Once you have clicked on that, the Newsletter Link will be under Manage Website Content.

Click on Look & Feel - there you can upload your logo and change the current template.

The CSV file format is very simple and supported by almost all spreadsheets and database management systems. Many programming languages have libraries available that support CSV files. Even modern software applications support CSV imports and/or exports because the format is so widely recognized. In fact, many applications allow .csv-named files to use any delimiter character.

 This is happening because the images are not the same size.

The gallery "preloads" the image behind the one currently showing, and because they are different sizes the one behind shows.

The "easy" fix for this is to make the images the same size. 

Your logo or web banner will only show in the spaces provided.

You are probably using a set template. The option to add your own unique logo to set templates should be added in due course. 

Default adverts are adverts that are displayed on Demo Websites. To remove the default adverts you nneed to contact your agent and become a paying client.

Yes you can, you can either get a second domain name that points to your old domain (R25+VAT per month extra) or you can just plainly get a new domain and we will transfer the contents (for free of course).

 in the "text editing box" where one type the text of a webpage, there is an icon with a picture of the earth and a chain (ie the hyperlink button). Click on that icon ... a box will appear into which you enter the text (of the hyperlink out, ie the text you want hyperlinked), then there is also a destination box where you enter the "destination" of the link (ie where one must be taken to when one clicks on the "text"). The "destination" must be a URL / web address. 

you can add background images to  your website, however it shows on you whole website and not just on the left

 It depends what the response is to.

If a Survey it will be under Survey/Form. Otherwise it is most likely under the notifications section when you login. If you have unread notifications the link will be highlighted in orange.

just look below the calendar box (when you have clicked on the event in your back-end system), there is a link saying "Delete event"

This should be suggested in the Feedback section for Kwikwap Developers to consider.

Are you sure you are using a customiseable template?

You can also phone your agent to train you better.

You can use the text editor to upload photos where you want. You do not have to only use the "Upload Home Page Image buttons.

The allowed size is 1 MB but inside the text editor it is 140 kb. Large enough. The home page images buttons were put in place before we got the new text editor.

The Home Page Images button limits you to where the photo displays. It is fixed / pred defined.

Better use the Images Icon inside your text editor.

In the text editing box (where one enters text for your website) there is a button / icon that looks like a film strip. Clcik on that and then a box will come up where you either enter the "embed code" of the youtube video (or the URL). Currently the rotation speed can not be changed. You need to make a suggestion in the feedback section of the website or vote if the suggestion has already been made. Instead of using the Photo Gallery you can use Picassa Web Albums which you can embed onto your Kwikwap Website. In Picassa Web Albums you can set the speed. You can also add captions.

To insert a screen tip on a picture you right click on the image, click options and insert the screen tip. Great for improving SEO.

Q- I've loaded Picasa onto my PC, now how do I load it onto Kwikwap?

Please supply more info on the newer PC screens. Please inform technical@kwikwap.co.za about this problem so that it can be fixed. Please note on the browser being used by the newer PC. Safari, Google, Internet Explorer.

Its important to let technical@kwikwap.co.za know about problems such as this so that they can be aware and fix problems. Usually when new things are done to the system there can be on ortwo bugs which can be sorted once technical@kwikwap.co.za becomes aware of it.

Press Prt Screen and Control V to take a screen shot so they can see what you see.

Go to "Look&Feel", select your existing template, to go to the next page. The first data box asks you what font you want for the web site, and the next data box will ask you for the font size. Select what you want, and click on the "Done" button. Then click on "Publish"

You can also set fonts for particular pages or portions of text where you edit the page. Select "Manage Website Content", then select the page you want to edit. In the editing window, select the text you want to change, and select "Font" at the top of the editing window. You can aslo change the size, colour, Bold, Italic, Underline, Highlight, Justification, Bullets and Indent here.

If you are battling uploading a picture in the text editor it is probably too big. 

You first need to acivate the newsletter module under additional modules.

You then would click on manage website content /

newsletter/ blog and then browse for your newsletter on your pc
